How It Works

There are two players (or a group of players) at the baseline – one on the ad and one on the deuce side, facing the net.

There are two piles of 3-5 balls at the net, one for each player.

At the coach’s command, the two players run to their respective pile, racquet in hand, pick up one ball, run back to the service line, drop the ball, and hit it over the net.
If their ball goes over the net, they run back to the baseline, touch it with their foot, then repeat. However, if they hit the ball into the net, they must run to retrieve it and try again from the service line.

The first player to hit all their balls over the net and get back to the baseline wins the game/drill.

This drill is part of My Daddy / My Coach, which you can find inside the How To Teach Tennis course, with the full progression and many more tips and drills.
