The Rainmaker

The coach, having a basket of balls right by the net center, faces the player who is also close to the net, opposite side and ready to run.
The coach will take balls from the basket, and toss them in the air, over the net, and in different directions. The player will have to catch the balls one at a time, after the bounce, and run to place them (one by one) back into the basket.
The coach tosses the ball only after the player puts one in the basket.
Do this for about 30 – 60 seconds. It is great for quick change of direction and speed.
If the player gets tired or sloppy, to stimulate him, the coach should give player no more than 3-5 seconds to bring the ball back into the basket before tossing the next one.
