Red Light, Green Light
The coach stands at the net on one side, the player on the baseline on the other side.
The coach holds a ball in his hand so that the player can see it. When the ball is tossed up, and as long as it is in the air, the player has the green light. This means she will have to move quickly towards the net. When the ball is caught by the coach, the player has to stop (this is the red light). The coach keeps tossing and catching the ball until the player touches the net.
The drill emphasizes quick reaction, balance and body control.
