Tap and Run
This drill is great for practicing the preparation and quick backing-up to get the overhead.
It has to be done at maximum speed with the emphasize on the proper preparation: sideways, hands up and staying ahead of the incoming ball.
Execution:
One player (coach) feeds balls (lobs) and the other player tries to hit 7-10 overheads in at a fast pace. The ball is fed as soon as the player taps the net with her racquet.
Great for conditioning, footwork and overhead consistency.
